ABSTRACT:

REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is secure, web-based data collection
software developed by Vanderbilt, with collaboration from a consortium of institutional partners. REDCap is flexible enough to be used for a variety of types of research. Features include an intuitive interface for easy database design and data entry; real time validation rules (with automated data type and range checks); audit trails, activity logs and reporting; automated export mechanism to common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, RS-Plus); and a downloadable data dictionary. All data collected via Duke’s REDCap are stored on DHTS servers behind Duke’s firewall. REDCap is supported by the Duke Office of Clinical Research and is available for use by all users with a NetID. Our objective is to introduce the audience to the background and features of REDCap, and then conduct a live demo of its functions.
