CIO Panel Discussion – The Real Tools of Innovation: Gender Diversity, Intercultural Awareness, and IT

Join in on the discussion in Presidents I, II and III from 1:00 – 1:55 PM.

As the demographics of the IT workforce evolves to include more women and communities of color it is important that all IT staff are aware of the inherent value of diversity and inclusiveness in the workspace. Join the CIOs – and your colleagues  Mary McKee (University IT) and Kulpreet Singh Koura (Health Systems IT) – for a panel discussion about these issues, moderated by Paul James from Duke’s Office for Institutional Equity (OIE).

This event represents Part 1 of a 4-part training series developed specifically for the entire Duke University and Health Systems IT community-not just management.  You can choose to participate in all, a few, or none of the modules (hopefully that is not your choice). This professional development program focuses on the importance and benefits of workplace diversity and intercultural awareness. The program is delivered through various interactive formats including live professional actors and will introduce behaviors like micro-aggression and unconscious biases. The series also explores the topic of “Intent vs Impact”.

The dates, times, and locations of modules 2-4 can be found on the Diversify IT site.
