The headline says it all — the call for proposals for TechExpo will open on January 28! Keep an eye on your inbox for an announcement with a link to the submission form.

Be ready to send in your topics for sessions, workshops, and panel discussions. Showcase a cool project you and your team completed, talk up how you’re using a new technology, or tell us about your plans to do something that hasn’t been done before. We want the Duke IT community to hear all about it!

Yes, you read that right – TechExpo 2026 is on Wednesday, May 20, 2026!

TechExpo is Duke’s annual conference about IT at Duke — for Duke IT professionals, by Duke IT professionals.

We’re excited to announce that this year’s event will be held at a new location in RTP – the Conference Center at NC Biotech. The event will be exclusively in-person.

Please start thinking about topics for sessions, workshops, and panel discussions.

Consider showcasing a cool project you and your team completed; talk up how you’re using a new technology, or tell us about your plans to do something that hasn’t been done before.

We want the Duke IT community to hear all about it! We will send the formal call for proposals in the new year.

This year’s theme is Brave New World (the book? the movie?). Your proposals aren’t required to tie-in with the theme – but maybe it will inspire you!

We’ll have a cool logo to share soon.

Last, it takes a village to pull off this event. It’s not too early to think about volunteering! We’ll reach out in future emails to solicit your help..
