What is HPC? How is it used? Where did it come from? How can I use it!
This discussion will touch on the basics of HPC and how it evolved to where it is today. We will see what kind of use cases are typical for HPC and what a cluster looks like. We will discuss the trends that are driving HPC adoption and use.
Our presenter is Duke Alumni (’90 MBA) Doug Beary of Lenovo Inc. Lenovo has recently purchased the x86 server division from IBM and Doug was part of that acquisition. Some of the HPC assets of IBM have been pulled over to Lenovo and Doug has HPC sales to Public Sector Accounts in the Eastern US. He covers University accounts and works with HPC users and buyers in that realm.
